From 2013 - 2015 I was employed as a construction worker. Having nowhere else to paint, the construction sites that I worked in became my makeshift studio and a source of discovery for new materials and techniques.
One of my jobs was to protect the floors from paint damage using drop cloths. As dust and spray paint fell onto the cloths I would rearrange them into different compositions and slowly build layers of paint on top of them. At the end of the day my boss would tell me to throw the cloths into the garbage but instead I would take them to my house and hang them on my walls as spontaneous abstract paintings.
